Waking up

I’m waking
I’m breathing
It’s morning
It’s raining
I’m breathing
It’s morning
It’s raining
I’m waking
It’s morning
It’s raining
I’m waking
I’m breathing
It’s raining
I’m waking
I’m breathing
It’s morning

Last night I drank a glass of deep dark blue tinged with morning
I feasted on stars circling over head
The divine rising of thoughts like candle flames flickering in the night
Brought me here again
Flickering off the walls of the mind
Moving this way and that
Like a snake across the sand

Caught in heathers fume

Caught in heathers fume
I fall to the past with mind consumed
Of tales and streams
Of gorse and paths; friends long gone yet here and now
We walk again un-aged and free
And still somehow
These secret ways the warming sun
Breathless with my hungers run
To get there first and eat my fill
Though years have passed these scenes remain
Gorse gold against my skin and veins
Remind me lark and blackbird song
For I have been away so long
Time has passed and time is spent
Yet etched upon this child hood mood
Scribbled on this summers breeze
Is everything forgotten
Except these memories
